What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device to remember things across visits — your preferences, whether you're logged in, what you've already seen. Modern sites also use related technologies (local storage, pixel tags, session storage). For simplicity, this page refers to all of them as "cookies."
Cookies we use
Strictly necessary (always on)
These keep the site working. They cannot be turned off because the site doesn't function without them.
- Session and security cookies set by our hosting provider (Vercel) for basic site operation. Duration: session.
- Consent preference cookie stored in localStorage as
jt_cookie_consent. Records your cookie-banner choice so we don't ask again. Duration: 12 months.
Analytics (off by default)
Help us understand how the site is used. Only loaded after you accept cookies.
- Google Analytics 4 —
_ga,_ga_*. Track unique visitors and session activity. Duration: up to 2 years. - Hotjar —
_hjSessionUser_*,_hjSession_*, and related. Anonymized session recordings and heatmaps. Form inputs are masked by default. Duration: up to 1 year.
Advertising (off by default)
Used by Google AdSense to serve and measure ads. If you reject cookies, AdSense runs in privacy-preserving mode (non-personalized ads only).
- Google AdSense —
__gads,__gpi,NID, and others. Used for ad delivery, frequency capping, and measurement. Duration: up to 2 years. - DoubleClick —
IDE,test_cookie. Used by Google's ad network. Duration: up to 13 months.
Change your choice
You can change your cookie consent at any time:
You can also clear your choice by deleting jt_cookie_consent from your browser's localStorage, which will cause the banner to appear again on your next visit.
Browser controls
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, or warn you before they're set. Here are the relevant settings pages:
Opt out of personalized advertising
You can disable personalized advertising across Google services at Google Ads Settings. To opt out of personalized advertising from many other networks, see the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out (US) or Your Online Choices (EU).
